PAGE & Redcap's Corner present a new X-Wing narrative event! The Molokh Gambit will be a narrative campaign held across two rounds of 100 point missions and concluding epic battle(s). Players will divide into Rebel and Imperial teams, with Scum joining either side. A poll for player factions and available huge ships will be posted. Entry fee includes pizza dinner.
If you are fairly certain you will be participating, please sign up here so we can get a rough headcount for planning purposes! You are more than welcome to just show up day-of though.
Can't commit the whole day to playing with toy spaceships? We would still love for you to join us for either the 100pt missions [noon-4pm], or the epic battle(s) [4:30-9:30]. We can easily work around people joining or leaving in that transition. Please let us know your plan though via the sign-up form.
We welcome feedback on this event. Please get in touch if you have questions or suggestions!
All details here are a draft for discussion, and not finalized until further notice.
There are two easy ways to keep apprised of details for this event as they develop:
|12:00||Campaign Briefing & Pilot Draft|
|16:00||Dinner & Epic Setup|
|21:30||Outcomes & Cleanup|
An online poll for factions will be held beforehand among registered players to roughly balance the teams. At the start of the event, players will divide into Rebels, Imperials, and Scum. Each will hold a pilot draft for their faction as described below. Following that, the Rebels and Imperials will hire mercenaries and bounty hunters, drafting Scum players into their teams to balance out the number of players.
After dividing into teams, each faction will hold a draft for unique pilots, titles, and crew. Teammates will discuss among themselves and come up with an allocation of those to be used in the first two missions. Each player may only field any other unique card once as usual, but multiple players may equip unique upgrades other than pilots, titles, and crew. Players may swap or transfer unique pilots, titles, and crew with their teammates before the concluding Epic battle(s).
Squad construction otherwise follows the standard rules. Players may only field a single faction, and must use the same faction throughout the event. The first two missions will use 100 point squadrons, with players building a list to use in both during the draft. In the final battle(s), by default players may field up to 100 points. However, they may field up to 150 points provided at least 50 points are spent on a single ship. Huge ships are only permitted in the Epic battle(s). Epic squadrons need not include the standard squadron used in the first two missions. Additional points, huge ships, and/or ringer players will be allocated to balance out the points for the final battle(s).
Small store credit prizes will be awarded based on personal achievements, though this is not a tournament! There will also be a prize for artistry (model or squad repaints) awarded by player voting.
