Scenario and objectives writeup:

Clarifications

More notes for the Victories:

  • Major Victory: Player holds the objective by having a scoring unit within 3", and no opponent units (scoring or otherwise) within 3".
  • Defender Minor Victory: A non-scoring Defender unit on the objective, but no Attacker units (scoring or otherwise).
  • Attacker Minor Victory: Any Attacker unit (scoring or not) within 3", regardless of any Defender units present (scoring or otherwise).

In other words, the Attacker gets at least a Minor Victory if it can get any unit onto the objective. The Defender has to keep the objective clear of Attackers just to be eligible for a Minor Victory. The imbalance is part of accounting for the Defender starting off holding the objective. It's similar in some ways to the PlanetStrike rules, though only coincidentally but probably for the same reasons. For a Major Victory it's the same for either side: A scoring unit must be present, and no enemy units whatsoever.

The Defender Minor Objective might seem a little strange, but is definitely possible. For example, a Defender unit of Space Marine Sternguard could successfully clear the objective of Attacker units, but would only be able to contest the objective as they are Elites and cannot hold it. This would yield a Minor Victory, e.g., if the Defender had no more Troops to move onto and hold the objective in the Sternguard's wake.
